We Need Your Help Finding Holiday Gifts for WV Youth in Foster Care!

Become a Holiday Hero!

This holiday season, KVC West Virginia is seeking Holiday Heroes to donate gifts to children and youth in foster care. Children who find themselves in foster care are victims of abuse, neglect or other family challenges. While foster families provide love and care as well as a safe place to stay, sometimes it is difficult to provide a lot of “extras” like presents during the holidays.

Providing gifts is one way individuals, families and businesses can support foster families and show children that they matter. Participants can sign up individually or as a family, church, community organization or business.

How it works:

  1. Fill out our Holiday Hero signup form. You can specify the age, gender and number of children you wish to donate gifts for.
  2. You will receive a child’s wish list which includes his or her name, age and list of items they would like. Shop for as many items on the list as you want and invite your friends to help out.
  3. Place the unwrapped gifts in a bag along with each child’s wish list and drop it off at your local KVC office.

We know the holidays are a busy time, so if you don’t have time to shop, please consider helping by making an online donation.

Shopping online? Here’s a great way to help children in need at no extra cost! AmazonSmile is the same shopping website as Amazon, with the same prices and the same selection. The only difference is that Amazon will donate a portion of your purchases to your favorite charitable organization, and it’s easy to do. On your first visit to AmazonSmile, type in “KVC” in the search box and select KVC Behavioral Healthcare West Virginia as your charitable organization. After that, start shopping!
