Much to Be Thankful For

capitol_fall

As the holiday season approaches, KVC West Virginia has much to be thankful for.  Foster and adoptive homes continue to open all over the state.  These homes are needed to accommodate the children (many of them in sibling groups) that are placed in foster care each day.  KVC is thankful to have such wonderful families who are answering the call to help children in need of a loving home.  If you are interested in joining this special group of people by fostering or adopting children through KVC, please contact Robin Cremeans at 304-347-9818.

We are also thankful for the more than 140 current homes that KVC has open at this time.  Many of these homes have adopted children and continue to foster.  We have parents that face adversity, such as illness and grief.  However, these parents continue to open their homes and provide a caring environment for children each day.

KVC continues to expand its great staff, welcoming two new therapists and a new case manager in the past few months.  These employees bring with them a great deal of professional and personal experience and they are ready to work with children and families not only within KVC, but outside in the community.  We are thankful for the case managers, therapists, home finders, and all of the administrative and support staff who tirelessly serve families and address difficult issues.  KVC would not exist without these people.

We are also thankful for the great support the community has shown in gearing up for the Christmas and holiday season.  We have given out a number of children’s names in order to purchase gifts, but still have a need.  If you are interested in purchasing gifts or donating money to make a child’s holiday a little brighter, please contact Kristi Ferrell at 304-687-3851.

There are also many community partners, such as DHHR workers, Guardians ad Litem, educators, judges, family members, and mental health providers who gladly partner with KVC to help over 300 children to live their best lives.  We are thankful to work with you and support your daily efforts to help children.

All in all, we have so much to be thankful for as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday.  KVC West Virginia is proud to be part of the community and to serve those in need.  Happy Thanksgiving!
