DESCRIPTION:According to Gallup\, 28% of U.S. employees experience burnout on the job very often or always. For social workers and mental health professionals\, the prevalence of burnout is even more common. A study conducted following the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic reported that 64% of social workers were experiencing burnout. Social workers and mental health professionals are especially at risk for burnout because they are exposed to the effects of trauma\, poverty\, and social and racial inequality on a daily basis. \nEvery workplace needs more resilient employees. A global mental health crisis and economic turmoil have created a need for a renewed focus on employee engagement and wellbeing. To help our partners and communities combat burnout and improve their wellbeing at work\, KVC is hosting a virtual training designed specifically for our partners in the child welfare and behavioral healthcare industries. Since then\, Ms. Keltner has worked as a case manager and clinician in the Intensive In-Home Services and IMPACT Plus programs\, was the Director of IMPACT Plus and then the Director of Development\, Training\, and Quality Assurance. Ms. Keltner also assisted KVC Kentucky in becoming accredited by The Joint Commission in November 2010. Ms. Keltner started working in West Virginia in 2011 and is currently acting as the Director of Permanency in addition to her Vice President duties. \nMs. Keltner graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Transylvania University in 2001 and received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Kentucky in 2005. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Kentucky and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in West Virginia.
